What are Sovereign Gold Bonds (SGBs)?
Sovereign Gold Bonds (SGBs) are government securities issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on behalf of the Government of India. They represent an investment in gold but in a non-physical form. Instead of holding physical gold, investors own the bond which is denominated in grams of gold, making it a more convenient and cost-effective way to invest in gold.
