Can I use my shares to trade in commodities?

Yes. Through the Shares as Margin (SAM) facility, you can pledge eligible shares from your Demat account and receive margin limit post hair cut to trade in commodities like other segment. Note that interest (around 0.027% per day plus GST) is chargeable on the utilized limit if the position is carried forward. For intraday position there is no interest applicable.
